Built as a Substantial Outdoor Room

The Fit Studio uses Sweaty Yeti's substantial outdoor construction approach.

The floor system begins with pressure-treated solid-wood joists set 24 inches on center. A 3/4-inch tongue-and-groove OSB underlayment is glued and nailed into place.

Walls are framed with 2 × 4 lumber and include full sheathing, exterior 7/16-inch OSB, double top plates, and reinforcement blocking where required.

Solid-wood rafters support an OSB roof deck designed to a 30 lb. per square foot live-load standard, with an available upgrade for properties requiring greater snow-load capacity.

Insulated for Outdoor Use

The insulated shell includes:

• R-13 fiberglass batt insulation in the walls

• R-30 insulation in the ceiling

• R-30 insulation in the floor

• Tyvek house wrap or equivalent weather barrier

• 30# roofing felt

• Ice-and-water shield

• Lifetime architectural asphalt composite shingles

• Clear-sealed cedar decking over an open-frame deck

• Board-and-batten fiber cement siding
